Toki Japanese Restaurant in Tampa

We have been coming here for several years now. The food has always been consistently excellent. The staff are very friendly and especially welcoming of regulars. There are always regulars in the restaurant. Their respect in that capacity will continue to draw our family back. The décor is dated, who cares really ... it is all about the food. Menu offerings include vegetarian / vegan options for the "oddball" in the family / circle of friends. We highly recommend a visit !

This is my favorite authentic sushi place in Tampa been coming here since highschool and it's always fresh and delicious! Val is an awesome waitress so nice and friendly. GREAT quality always and perfect sushi bar atmosphere also.

cleanest sushi restaurant in tampa. first time i ate here was almost 20 years ago. it was 20 mins to closing & we were gonna order takeout. they said u dont havta cause we're gonna be here another hour cleaning & doing books. while we ate we watched the guys cleaning. talk about fine tooth comb. may be a fuzzy memory, but id swear they used tiny scrub brushes & qtips to get every millimeter of the fish case. they got every inch of that restaurant sparkling while we took our time drinking sake & eating the raw stuff. for the last 20 years the quality has never waivered

While on vacation I wanted an adventurous experience so I tried the Eel. it was amazing! not to mention the staff was wonderfully pleasant and was very personal to our needs. it was a wonderful experience

Best sushi in Tampa

Fantastic sashimi appetizer. Salmon was sweet and melts on your tongue. Snapper and tuna were also fresh and satisfying.

I love their great vegetarian sushi dinner.. haven't found an option like that anywhere else. It's a small restaurant but don't let that fool you. This place is top notch.

Everything I read online before entering has played out exactly. Sushi is fresh and delicious and the service was excellent. If I were a Tampa local this would have immediately became a go to location. Even so, now I just have another reason to go out when I'm up here!

Best Japanese restaurant in all of Tampa. My parents and I came here for my high school graduation 8 years ago, and have been back every month since then. The sushi is extremely fresh, and there's so many good combos that they whip up. The servers are all super friendly, and remember our preferred table, as well as our usual order. We'll continue coming here for a long time!

Every restaurant around Florida, always serves cheap fake sushi and low grade quality. My wife and I who are from Japan, don't complain about most sushi places because we know what to expect. But this place takes the cake, we wanted traditional Japanese sushi and cuisine. As we came, we were greeted nicely and given hot towels to wipes our hands and faces, as most quality restaurants should have. Chopsticks give you an authentic feel, instead all the other nonsense Asian restaurants that just throw forks on the tables, assuming no one knows what "chopsticks" are. Their menu was great, all Japanese and no nonsense fusion garbage. We ordered the sushi plate and it was fantastic, good quality and moist. The negimaki gave us such nostalgia, it is an incredible little beef dish. I would recommend this place 100% to anyone who wants to eat authentic Japanese food in Florida.

Carrollwood's best kept secret. A friend toldbus about it and we have been hooked ever since. We'll pop in and chat with Chris and his team or sometimes get a feast 'to go'. It is always fresh, fabulous and delicious.

Waitress was very polite and friendly. So was the sushi chef. Everything came out auickly. The hot tea was fresh, the new volcano roll was delicious and they subbed out my cucumber for no charge. And this is one of the onlyyyyy places in all of tampa where i can get takoyaki and its DELICIOUS. My date got the teri beef dinner it came with ginger salad,miso soup, half a deep fried california roll, broccoli, sauteed mushrooms, noodles. Huge plate. Well worth the money. I might add its extremely affordable for the quality of food and portions you get. Compliments to the chef on every part of our meal. I would definitely reccomend and will absolutely be a repeat customer!

Chris did an excellent job of taking care of us. We especially liked the spicy scallop handrolls. The uni was fresh and well prepared and the futomaki was prepared differently than most places. Keep up the great work.

I have been coming to this place for over twenty years and it is still my favorite. The specially rolls they have are amazing. My favorite is the Florida roll. Great place, great people, good prices and excellent food.

For me personally I love traditional sushi restaurants. I believe they feel more authentic when you don't have 10 different amateur chefs, plasmas all over the wall and other distractions.I believe this is the oldest sushi restaurant in Tampa if not the second oldest it is family run. The chef will remember what you like and don't like after a few visits. He prides himself in his nigiri and rice and they are very professional and polite.

This is hands down the BEST sushi restaurant I have ever been to! The service is always great, the sushi is always fresh and they have a great selection to choose from. It has always been an enjoyable experience! If you love sushi, this is definitely the place to go!

The Sushi and Sashimi here are amazing!!! That is why they don't open all day. The Fatty Tuna Sashimi is to die for! Was a little skeptical at first about the sashimi prices but once they came out, each pieces were pretty big. Inside layout isn't to bad, just a little cramped. Toki Sushi needs to work on their outside presentation of their restaurant.

So I have greatly enjoyed this sushi here and I just found out that they do Omakase (chef's choice) which is awesome. Service was slightly slow on drinks but it also got really busy so can understand. Everything was very tasty, well made, and larger pieces than expected.

Love Toki sushi. Good food good service....cant wait to go back!!!!
